Ž 16th April – Decide to enter the Plymouth – Dakar rally

Ž 12th May – Accepted!

Ž 12th July – Launch party- who were those people driving around the field in their cars?

Ž 30th July – we are planning to start from Trafalgar Square on Boxing day at 10am.  Is anyone else meeting then?  Which port are you planning to go from as we are thinking of going from Dover – Calais, then driving through France.

Ž 13th August — First entry in the Hemel Gazette.  Article is attached.

Ž 15th September – One ambulance wanted link to the Hemel website

Ž 10th October – We travelled down to Godalming to pick up our ambulance!  Got it back with a major scare on the m25. It is now sat at our kitchens.

Ž 13th October - Nic, Gary & Richard create the link between The Georgetown Primary School and Bovingdon Primary School.  During the morning assembly, We presented ‘life in Georgetown’ – a video Richard made in the Gambia.Brought gifts for the school from Georgetown.

Ž Advised the Bovingdon School children what the Georgetown children would like.Gave out sponsorship forms to all the children – the person with the most names will win a signed Watford pennant.

Ž 14th October – Fyfes Butcher and Jarmans have got sponsorship forms in their shops – if you would like a sponsorship form, please go to the link or email us and we will send you one.

Ž 15th October—Nic contacts the British Embassy in Gambia to discuss where our ambulance will be placed.

Ž 17th October- a business man in Harpenden donates an ambulance. He has left the ambulance fully equipped and ready for use in the Gambia.

Ž 5th November – Ferry booked, going to from Dover – Calais on Boxing day!

Ž 12th November – Spire Health Care agree to donate medical equipment and gas bottles

Ž 13th November – Gary has bought maps of Africa and a winch

Ž 18th November – Nic’s mother-in-law agrees to lend us three cb radios

Ž 24th November – Nic & Tania have their 3rd baby

Ž 1st December – Nic’s Mum and dad agree to give us some garden chairs and pots and pans

Ž 5th December – Logos are made and by Utopia Signs – Thank you and Gary has stuck them on

Ž 18th December – Nic picked up t-shirts and clothing from T-Shirts etc

Ž 19th December - Nic, Gary and Richard took the ambulances to Bovingdon Primary school to pick up the shoe boxes.  We were given 467 presents to take to Georgetown.

Ž 25th December— Christmas day! No turning back now

Ž 26th December– Gary booked the 7.45pm ferry as it was £80.00 cheaper. Cheapskate Gary paid an extra £20.00 to get as on the early ferry. Today we have travelled from London - Dover - Calais - Paris - Tours

We ran out of petrol on 1st January—not a bad place to stop
